More information

“Russeau D'Automne” is a 30 x 36 in. oil on canvas, presented in a Unique Frame. A Traditional landscape from Jacques Poirier.

Jacques Poirier paints the Laurentians, the North Shore and the Charlevoix region of Quebec, drawn to the ruggedness of the landscape and the play of light and shade across the seasons. He works with a restrained palette, favouring subtle tonal shifts over strong contrast so that the landscape itself carries the painting. Over more than thirty-five years of painting expeditions he has worked across the Maritimes, Western Canada and the northern United States, though Quebec remains his subject of choice.
