John Mlacak (1936–2014, Canada) was an acclaimed oil painter whose work captured the bold colours and shifting light of the Canadian seasons. Influenced by the Group of Seven and French Impressionists, he painted landscapes of Gatineau Park, Charlevoix, and Quebec towns, as well as scenes from the Maritimes and Europe. An elected member of the SCA and OSA, he combined expressive brushwork with compositional clarity, creating enduring visions of Canada’s landscape heritage.
