Gerda Marschall was born in Bavaria, Germany, in 1949 and came to Canada as a child, settling near Montreal before later moving to Eastern Ontario. Working primarily in oil, she paints expressionistic landscapes and exuberant florals shaped by her studies at the Saidye Bronfman Centre for the Arts.
