Return From A Dream #2

Born in Uruguay in 1950 and based in Toronto, Hugo Frones has been shaped by abstract expressionism since the 1980s. His acrylic paintings on canvas balance intuitive, bold brushwork with complex formal dynamics. Favoring warm tones and Mediterranean atmospheres, Frones engages a process of “control and chance,” allowing subjects to emerge through spontaneous gestures. His work demonstrates a rigorous command of composition and color, marking a distinctive evolution in contemporary abstraction. Represented by Koyman Galleries.
