Brigitte Nowak is a German-born painter who grew up in Cambridge, Ontario and studied fine art at the University of Guelph, now dividing her time between Toronto and Georgian Bay. Working in oil and egg tempera, her realist landscapes and figurative works explore the interplay of observation and memory, returning often to the canoe as both form and Canadian symbol.
