Horace Champagne (b. 1937, Montréal) left a career in commercial art to pursue fine art, becoming one of Canada’s foremost pastelists. Educated at the École des beaux-arts de Montréal, Ottawa School of Art, and in the U.S. with Charles Movalli and Daniel Green, he mastered plein air technique and figure study. His luminous pastels capture the shifting seasons of Quebec, the Rockies, and Newfoundland with exceptional sensitivity. His works are held in private and corporate collections.
