Melanie Arcand
Mélanie Arcand was born in 1981, she lives and works in Chambly, Quebec. In 2002, she studied visual art and multimedia. She then studied business and pursued a career in management for a few years. In 2014, Mélanie returned to painting exclusively. Inspired by the idea of the feeling of landscape, she began to explore the relationship between the symbolism of nature and feeling. Sprinkled with allusions, Mélanie Arcand's paintings suggest universes inspired by the complexities that surround her. Interested in the concept of duality, her paintings are an amalgam of control and the unexpected; On the canvas, the elements intermingle and oppose each other. The pencilled vocabulary coexists with the broad brushstrokes; Vulnerability confronts the force of the gesture with a game of transparency, which calls for reverie.
