Gestural and intuitive brushwork leave the viewer with floral impressions and whimsical memories of garden scapes.
Her colourful style is influenced from a childhood spent in her mother’s flower shop and visits to the National Film Board of Canada with her father, an animator. Passion for creativity in their respective fields encouraged her to pursue her own artistic endeavours.
After receiving her BFA from Queens University, she continued her studies at Canterbury University in New Zealand.
Vanessa’s work can be found in many private, public and corporate collections throughout North America. Her work can also be found in television shows such as A Handmaids Tale, Working Moms, Saving Hope, Blue Bloods and various movie sets.
When not in her studio, Vanessa spends time in her garden, further inspiring her work.
