Linny’s work is often compared to the art of the Group of Seven, Emily Carr and Vincent van Gogh, like these historic artists her inspiration begins with the visual world and its beautifully rhythmic patterns of colour and light, yet what distinguishes Linny's style is her ability to translate these sights and sensations into paintings that dance with a life and joy that is uniquely their own.
Whether Linny paints en plein air or in studio, with oil or with acrylic, her exceptional design skill, imaginative vision and expressive brushwork combine to create a magical world that celebrates the wonderful character and joyous imperfectness of life.
Linny has had numerous solo exhibitions and been featured in important group exhibitions in public and private galleries across Canada and the USA. Her paintings are treasured in Collections throughout the USA, Canada & Europe and draw admiration and smiles from round the world.
Linny was born in the spring of 1960 in Saskatoon SASK, grew up in and around Vancouver, and has lived in Victoria BC since 1992.
